The Nature Conservancy is another site that has an extensive amount of information, yet it is organized so it is easy to find what you are interested in. The top tabs have a drop down menu that include thumbnails , so the visual may help a person navigating the site. The colors of the site are shades of green which works perfectly for what they stand for. I would have maybe put a light green background behind the "Conservation News & Stories" section. I think it would break up the section better.
